Hong Kong's Most Valuable Companies: V-ZUG Wins 2011 Award

At a ceremony on November 30th, Mediazone presented V-ZUG with a award recognizing it as one of Hong Kong’s Most Valuable Companies. Mediazone is viewed as one of the world’s most exclusive media groups. The award presented by the renowned group is considered to be the «Oscar» of the local business community.

V-ZUG was honored along with a select group of recipients of this unique award, among them the luxury brand Bulgari, LGT Bank Liechtenstein, the Belgian company GODIVA Chocolatier, a subsidiary of Nestlé Group, Manpower and insurance company Generali.

Aiming to strategically expand into new export markets, V-ZUG decided to enter the Hong Kong market in early 2010. In just under two years, the traditional Swiss brand achieved more than just satisfactory results. Mediazone chose this year’s group of select award recipients by asking what it was that made a company so valuable in this market as to deserve an «Oscar».

In the case of V-ZUG, the jury was won over by multiple reasons, particularly the company’s innovative kitchen and laundry room appliances. V-ZUG employs about 200 engineers in Research and Development to ensure the company’s sustained ability to innovate as it continues to set new benchmarks and raise the bar in the industry. The business model was also deemed sustainable, leading to a positive outlook in Hong Kong.

V-ZUG is known for its corporate citizenship, as well as the quality and commitment of its employees. The Swiss market leader is present in more than 50 % of households and dominates its home market for kitchen and laundry room appliances. This is also expressed in the traditional Swiss brand’s slogan «The Swiss Leader». The company’s tradition reaches back to the year 1913. Today, it is headquartered in the town of Zug in central Switzerland. V-ZUG achieved a total annual revenue of approx. € 380 million with 1.300 employees.
