V-ZUG unveils trendsetting innovations in its centenary year
V-ZUG – a Metall Zug Group company – will be presenting a unique selection of innovative products for the kitchen and laundry room during the VIP Days, an industry get-together for V ZUG market partners to be held at its Zug facility on January 22 to 29, 2013. These new offerings combine groundbreaking, energy-efficient technologies and top-drawer quality with timeless, modern design.
“We’re delighted to have the chance to present our latest innovations to such a broad trade audience on the occasion of the company centenary,” comments Dr Jürg Werner, CEO of both Metall Zug and V-ZUG. “These innovations are developed and produced in Zug. Our inventive talent anticipates the needs of our discerning clientele at home and abroad, setting new standards in terms of energy efficiency and customer benefits.”
The latest Adora SLQ WP washing machine – energy-saving world record holder
The technology of the future has set a new world record in energy saving. The “green” washing machine is driven by a highly efficient, low-energy heat pump featuring ice storage technology. The Adora SLQ WP adapts its energy consumption to personal preferences as it is possible to choose between three different EcoHybrid levels. Power consumption is much lower than with conventional washing machines, beating the best energy efficiency class A+++ by 40%. This makes the Adora SLQ WP the most efficient and environmentally friendly washing machine in the world, while the Vibration Absorbing System (VAS) makes it particularly quiet when spinning.
The Refresh-Butler – world exclusive in clothing care
This appliance represents a revolutionary system for upscale garment care. The Refresh-Butler can gently sanitise and smooth out creases in suits, dresses, evening wear, outfits and coats, readying them to be worn again. The fully automatic programme, which also reduces the germ count, gets the job done in no time at all. The latest invention from V-ZUG functions on the basis of a sophisticated combination of steam and odour-eliminating photocatalysis.
Internationalisation – “Swiss Made” as the recipe for success
The Switzerland brand goes down well in international markets. Apart from the “Swiss Made” label, the prerequisites for market success are high quality, resource-light, user-friendly appliances with an attractive design, cutting-edge technology and outstanding after-sales service. V-ZUG markets its premium range in 20 countries on three continents. Germany, France and the UK are key markets. A service organisation and logistics centre were recently established in Belgium, from where EU markets are supplied. The expansion of the V-ZUG brand is particularly popular in Russia and Ukraine. V-ZUG has won several major projects in the Asia-Pacific region that will be implemented in 2013 and 2014. In addition, a further V-ZUG hub is being set up in Shanghai this year. We supply our cutting-edge steamer technology to the United States through an OEM partnership.
Committed to sustainability and energy efficiency
V-ZUG frequently sets new standards in terms of energy efficiency and employs technologies of the future. Not only do V-ZUG appliances excel with their impressively efficient operation, they are also produced with sparing use of resources. At the end of December 2012, the ZUGgate logistics centre was equipped with the largest photovoltaic system in the Canton of Zug, featuring highly efficient, state-of-the-art cell technology and an output of 250kW. Renewable electricity is generated by a 1,600sqm module located on the building’s flat roof. This means that ZUGgate is self-sufficient in energy.
V-ZUG invests regularly in the infrastructure at its production facility. Currently planned is a multi-stage construction project on the existing site, where the Assembly and Logistics units will be expanded with a view to boosting efficiency even further. The ground-breaking ceremony is due to be held before the end of 2013.
V-ZUG’s centenary represents both an incentive and a commitment to secure the long-term direction of prosperity and growth. Durability, uncompromising quality, customer focus, technology leadership and a willingness to invest are key conditions for continuing to successfully serve the important domestic market of Switzerland going forward and extending the geographical footprint constantly and sustainably.
