Casa Me, a hidden gem on the shores

On the hillside of Brissago Piodina, a riverside town not far from Locarno, an old village house was recently renovated with the aim of creating a timeless environment, through the use of wood and natural stone alongside products from contemporary design brands.

Casa Me is a historical building in the center of Brissago Piodina, a village on Lake Maggiore. The conversion by the architecture studio Wespi de Meuron Romeo creates a relationship between the past and the present through a sensible use of materials, and emphasises the relationship between the interiors and the natural surroundings by connecting the living room to the garden and opening a series of windows onto the lake.

V-ZUG’s products seamlessly merge with the flawless interiors of Casa Me’s kitchen. The signature black mirror glass from our CombiSteamer V6000 and Combair V6000 creates a continuum with the rest of the appliances, while the all-glass hob of the CombiCookTop V4000 organically blends with the minimalist kitchen design. Their sleek appearance contrasts with the natural charm of both the stone walls and the wooden ceiling.

“This project is intended as a gentle conversion, with the aim of revealing and strengthening the existing architectural qualities.” Jérôme de Meuron, Wespi de Meuron Romeo Architects
