Additional functions explained

Depending on the model, your cooktop may offer additional functions that make cooking easier and more flexible. Select those available on your appliance for more details.

Extra power for rapid heating, ideal for bringing large volumes of liquid to the boil. Select a cooking zone and tap “P”. The hob returns to level 9 automatically. Not recommended for preheating pans.

An acoustic reminder that works like an egg timer, independent of all other settings. The Timer alerts you at the set moment but does not switch the cooking zone off automatically.

Set a cooking zone to switch off automatically after a set time. When the time elapses, the zone switches off and an audible signal sounds, helping to prevent overcooking or a forgotten pan on the hob.

Prevents the hob from being switched on unintentionally for added everyday safety. Activation and deactivation vary by model; please refer to the relevant manual for exact instructions.

Pause all active cooking zones for up to 10 minutes without losing the settings. Zones drop to the minimum level while the timer continues, allowing for safe interruption.

Connects two adjacent cooking zones into one large zone, controlled by a single setting. The bridging function is ideal for oversized pots, roasting pans or griddle plates that span across two zones.

If the cooktop is switched off accidentally, all previous settings can be restored within six seconds, allowing you to resume cooking exactly where you left off.

Applies gentle heat at approximately 40 °C, perfect for slowly melting butter, chocolate or honey without scorching or overheating.

Keeps finished dishes warm without further cooking or drying out, at serving temperature of approximately 65 °C.

Temporarily deactivates the controls so the display can be wiped clean without accidentally changing any settings. A convenient feature for a quick clean-up.

Connects the cooktop and range hood via Bluetooth. The ventilation switches on and off automatically and adjusts its fan speed to match the cooking intensity on the hob.

Downdraft extractor

Removes residual fumes after cooking and dries out the extractor system. The extractor runs at level one for a set time once a zone has been active. Switching the zone back on continues the function.

Activates the extractor independently of the hob for general air circulation. Select a fan level and switch it off manually. The hob cannot be operated while active.

Automatic air purification: The extractor runs automatically at regular intervals on a low power setting, helping to keep kitchen air fresh throughout the day.

  • Tip for recirculation mode

After cooking, a brief burst of ventilation is recommended to expel excess moisture from frying or boiling, helping to keep your kitchen air pleasant and free from lingering cooking fumes.

  • Tip for extraction mode

This mode starts at the highest fan level for 10 seconds, then returns to the desired setting automatically. A window should be kept open during cooking, as the extractor requires fresh air.

FAQs

Have you ever turned your stove on by accident or forgotten to turn off the heat? Now this not a problem any more. Pan detection ensures that the stove generates heat only when a pan is placed on the hob. A timer-controlled safety shut-off monitors each cooking zone and turns it off after a certain period. And if you have some aspiring junior chefs in your family, use the childproof lock to prevent accidents.
Certain hobs have a lateral warming zone with temperature monitoring. Induction hobs offer a warming function for the different cooking zones.
Induction hobs are impressively fast. They react quickly and are finely adjustable, which means liquids will rarely boil over, if ever. As the heat is generated in the base of the pan only, the glass around the cooking zone is hardly warmed up at all. Therefore spilt food won't burn and the hob can be cleaned easily with a damp cloth.
Yes, all V-ZUG induction and autarkic radiant hobs are fitted with an automatic safety shut-off that prevents overheating.
Hobs and range hoods that feature the OptiLink function communicate with each other via Bluetooth. The fan level automatically adjusts to the current cooking level and switches off automatically when the hob is switched off – so you can focus all your attention on cooking without having to think about operating the range hood. All models in the V6000 and V4000 series have this technology integrated as standard at no extra cost.
Connecting, or pairing, your V-ZUG built-in range hood with our networkable hobs is a breeze.
To make sure the range hood works as effectively as possible, switch it on three to five minutes before you start cooking. This allows an air flow to be established in the room so that vapours and odours can be conducted away quickly. To prevent the build-up of negative pressure and support the extraction of cooking odours, fresh air must be supplied at the same time. As a result, the following rules apply: always open a window when using air extraction solutions. Once you have finished cooking, keep the fan running for another five to ten minutes. Many range hoods have an automatic run-on function for this purpose. In particular, frying pans should be left under the range hood if they are still hot because they can still disperse odours even after you have finished cooking.
