FAQ

    • Functions, tips and tricks

Is it possible to use an extracted air or a recirculation air solution in conjunction with the Fusion hob with integrated range hood?

Yes it is – the unit can be installed with either an extracted air or a recirculation air solution.
    • Functions, tips and tricks

Which range hoods are particularly quiet?

The level of noise emitted by a range hood depends on the model and extracted air system chosen. In the case of extracted air range hoods, the following rule applies: the smaller the diameter of the exhaust duct, the louder the appliance. As a result, we recommend using a pipe diameter of 150 mm in extracted air mode.
    • Functions, tips and tricks

What material is the ventilation duct of the DSMS hob hood made from?

The material is a flame-retardant plastic blend, which is self-extinguishing with a V0 classification as per the UL94 standard.
    • Functions, tips and tricks

How do the hob hood and the hob with integrated range hood work?

Steam and odours rise at a maximum rate of one metre per second. The V-ZUG hob hood or hob with integrated range hood extracts the air using a cross current that is higher than the rising speed of the cooking vapour. As a result, cooking vapours and odours can be effectively extracted straight away at the hob.
    • Functions, tips and tricks

Does the hob ventilation/hob hood ventilation also work with taller pots?

Cooking vapours can be extracted without any problems in the case of pots up to 20 cm tall. For pots that are over 21 cm tall, we recommend placing the pot lid at an angle in order to direct the steam towards the range hood.
    • Functions, tips and tricks

What do I need to consider with regard to the exhaust duct?

If possible, you should make sure that the duct diameter is at least 125 mm and ideally 150 mm. If there is no room for a round pipe, a flat channel with an equivalent cross section may also be used. The use of 90° pipe bends should be kept to a minimum. Narrowing cross sections and reducing pipes with a smooth inner surface should also be avoided. We recommend using short piping lengths, wall boxes with large slats and sufficient replacement air.

What is the difference between an oven and a cooker?

A cooker is always installed underneath the worktop and has switches that allow the hob to be controlled. The oven is usually installed at eye level in a tall unit. This makes operation more convenient and ergonomic.

    • Functions, tips and tricks

What is EasyCook and how do the filter functions work?

The EasyCook function provides you with helpful default settings for over 100 selected foods – so you can cook quickly and with confidence even without a recipe. Simply select the desired food under EasyCook, and the appliance will immediately suggest one or more cooking methods. The selection of foods and recipes can be customised. The «Nutritional style» filter setting can be used to remove foods that are not required at the touch of a button. For example, meat can be deselected if the user is a vegetarian. The «National cuisines» filter, on the other hand, expands the range of dishes to include country-specific recipes and can be quickly adapted to your personal culinary style.

What are the advantages of baking with hot air over traditional top/bottom heat?

Advantages over traditional top/bottom heat are that the results are comparable to what you can buy at a bakery. The V-ZUG hot-air concept achieves much more efficient (hot) air distribution because the hot air circulates in the oven cavity and the heat cooks the top and bottom of the baked goods more evenly. What’s more, you can even bake on two levels at the same time using hot air.

Is there not a risk of burning yourself on the door front?

All appliances are guaranteed to have low external door temperatures. In the case of normal ovens and steamers, a triple-layer glass door ensures safe operation while cooking. Pyrolytic self-cleaning ovens actually have a four-layer glass door concept. Thanks to the innovative door concept in the Advanced and Excellence Line, the door is ventilated with air from the room, thereby keeping the temperature of the outer door lower than it is for the standard models. What’s more, active appliance door ventilation also enables lower outer door temperatures for pyrolytic self-cleaning appliances.

There are different solutions to suit you – whether you want your range hood to be an eye-catching design feature or for it to be discreetly integrated into your kitchen. On the wall If you want to make your range hood stand out, then a wall hood is a great choice. Wall hoods are also available as slanted versions which provide ample headroom. They are installed on the wall directly above the hob. Integrated into the kitchen units If you would rather incorporate the hood into the kitchen so that it is virtually invisible, then we recommend a built-in range hood with a glass canopy, a flat-panel range hood or an integrated range hood. These are perfect for kitchens in which you need to make clever use of the space. On the ceiling Range hoods designed for ceiling installation are the perfect solution in open-plan kitchens that feature a free-standing cooking island. Choose your favourites from our elegant ceiling range hoods and our wide range of attractive island hoods. Downdraft or in the hob itself Without long detours, cooking vapours are whisked away at the very place where they first develop – on the hob itself. Our integrated hob hood, the pull-out downdraft and the induction hob with integrated range hood offer increased headroom and extract the vapours downwards.

In extracted air solutions, an open window helps to optimise the air flow and prevents negative pressure building up in the kitchen.

    • Maintenance and Cleaning

Can you clean the metal grease filters in the dishwasher?

All metal grease filters should be cleaned at least once every two months (more frequently in the event of intensive use, and at the latest when the noise increases). Range hoods with saturation indicators on the display remind you to clean them regularly. You can soak the metal grease filter by hand and clean it with gentle detergent. With fully integrated dishwashers, the operating panel is concealed. Only when you open the appliance, you'll find it integrated in the door's upper edge.

    • Functions, tips and tricks

What are the different installation options for dishwashers?

Fully integrated dishwashers feature an entire front in your kitchen's colour.

The Noblesse 60i eco and the DeLuxe 60i both feature a bottom compartment complete with bottle drawer (8–12°C) in which food that is sensitive to the cold (such as potatoes) can be stored at a mild temperature and drinks can be kept at a pleasant drinking temperature. These different temperature zones offer the greatest possible flexibility.
    • Maintenance and Cleaning

What makes induction hobs so easy to clean?

Induction hobs are impressively fast. They react quickly and are finely adjustable, which means liquids will rarely boil over, if ever. As the heat is generated in the base of the pan only, the glass around the cooking zone is hardly warmed up at all. Therefore spilt food won't burn and the hob can be cleaned easily with a damp cloth.
    • Maintenance and Cleaning

How do you clean the hob?

Slight soiling can be removed with a smooth cloth and a little detergent. To tackle heavy dirt, apply glass ceramic cleaning agent with a sponge, leave it on for a few minutes and then remove it with a cloth. Encrusted dirt can be removed with a hob scraper.
    • Commissioning and operation

What is the most economical way to use a refrigerator?

What actions can I take to prevent undesirable odours?

To make sure the range hood works as effectively as possible, switch it on three to five minutes before you start cooking. This allows an air flow to be established in the room so that vapours and odours can be conducted away quickly. To prevent the build-up of negative pressure and support the extraction of cooking odours, fresh air must be supplied at the same time. As a result, the following rules apply: always open a window when using air extraction solutions. Once you have finished cooking, keep the fan running for another five to ten minutes. Many range hoods have an automatic run-on function for this purpose. In particular, frying pans should be left under the range hood if they are still hot because they can still disperse odours even after you have finished cooking.

The ash can then be wiped away with a damp cloth. Pyrolytic self-cleaning is available as an option in all appliances in convenience level V4000 or above.
