V‑ZUG know-how: FAQ

No, for security reasons, your smartphone or tablet must be on the same home network as your V-ZUG appliance. But you will still get notifications even when your device is not connected to the home network.

To connect your appliance wirelessly using wi-fi, follow these steps:

• Activate V-ZUG-Home in the user settings of your household appliance

• Download the V-ZUG app on your smartphone or tablet

• Use the app to connect the appliance to your home network.

Activating V-ZUG-Home mode is required to connect to the V-ZUG app.

Depending on the appliance, V-ZUG-Home mode may be found in the settings, or you can consult the V-ZUG-Home manual for appliance-specific instructions.

To benefit from the advantages of V-ZUG-Home, please download and install the V-ZUG app from Google Play or the App Store on your smartphone or tablet.

The automatic program is capable of detecting what your dirty dishes need, thereby reducing the consumption of water, electricity and dishwater salt by up to 30%. The program also works out how long the washing cycle needs to last. This could be anywhere between 50 and 85 minutes.

Applying steam makes the textile fibres smooth, causing creases to unfold. Clothing is smoothed out using a combination of its own weight and a gentle stream of air.

The additional hygiene program eliminates germs using an elevated temperature (above 60°C) over a relatively long exposure time. Independent laboratory trials have confirmed a reduction in germs of up to 99.99%.

Yes, in principle, body odour can also be removed from fabrics. It should be kept in mind, however, that body odour is produced to help remove bacteria. Since sweat is unique to each individual, the treatment result may differ from person to person. We recommend washing sweaty clothes.

Yes, wet clothes can easily be dried again in next to no time using the additional drying program.

Yes, the cutlery drawer is designed so that the right-hand external wing can be retracted sideways, meaning that long-stemmed glasses can still be placed in the upper basket below.

The integrated heat pump and the ventilation system blow warm air into the interior and whisk away the humid air.

Specifically designed with night-time usage in mind, the Silent program emits no noise at all. During the night, the program can take longer, but needs to be as quiet as possible – which is exactly what the Silent program offers.

Start it without putting any laundry in the washing machine. The program heats a small amount of water to approximately 80°C and then treats the inside of the appliance with steam to significantly reduce the number of germs.

When buying glasses, please check to make sure that they are dishwasher-safe. Also note the information provided by the manufacturer of the glasses or ask the sales personnel. Glasses that are marked as dishwasher-safe can be washed with other crockery in the dishwasher without further thought. Higher temperatures are not a problem for such glasses, as they are manufactured to high standards of quality. As part of the daily use of your glasses, we recommend washing them along with your other crockery and cookware using the automatic program.

Our anti-crease programme is yet another highlight of the comprehensive V-ZUG laundry care range. It is designed primarily for blouses, shirts, T-shirts and cotton trousers that are treated for 20 minutes. Put the items on hangers while they are still slightly damp. Iron them lightly if required and they will look as good as new.

OptiDos can play a valuable role in your daily routine. You no longer have to think about dosing the detergent. V-ZUG has also made the operation and selection of the correct program as easy as possible. 3 clicks are sufficient to start the washing machine with the desired program and automatic dosing.

Part load – the program adapts to smaller loads. Far less water is consumed, with a saving of between 1 and 6 litres. The program runtime is reduced by up to 30 minutes.

When washing items by hand, around 40 litres of water must be heated up. With V-ZUG’s best appliances, this figure is reduced by almost 90%, with the Adora SL requiring just 5 litres of water.

Whether it’s a carefully thought out menu for guests or something you’ve thrown together using ingredients from the garden, refrigerator or pantry, the BakeOmatic always delivers quick, simple and tasty results. Thanks to unique sensor technology in the climate control system (CCS) with active ventilation flap, your cooking chamber will reach the ideal conditions for your dish. Your steamer or oven will automatically detect the weight and size of the dish and will select the best sequence of the various operating modes with exactly the right temperature and duration. What’s more, you can find out exactly when the dish will be ready just moments after you begin.

V-ZUG OptiDos supports the detergent selection with an intuitive, unique selection aid. It uses a symbol to show which detergent from the OptiDos dispenser suits the selected program best.

When you pull out the OptiDos drawer, the load capacity for both dispensers is shown on the touch display and whether or not there is sufficient detergent. If the filing level is low, a notification will automatically appear on the display after the wash (without pulling out the detergent dispenser drawer).

As standard, we recommend entering the dosing volume of the detergent manufacturer for 4–5 kg of laundry, medium soiling and the local water hardness in the machine. In most cases, the recommended dosing volume of the manufacturer can be found in a table on the back of the packaging.

Both OptiDos dispensers can each be filled with 1.2 l of liquid detergent or softener. OptiDos calculates the optimum dosing volume according to the selected program and the laundry volume in the drum. No excessive or insufficient dosage ever again!Examples: Slightly soiled laundry, at medium water hardness: manufacturer’s dosing recommendation is 60 ml. This means that you can wash up to 20 times without refilling. Normally soiled laundry, at soft water hardness: manufacturer’s dosing recommendation is 95 ml. Here, up to 12 washes can be done without refilling (the number of washes depends on the dosing recommendation of the detergent, the laundry volume in the drum, water hardness, degree of soiling).

Fish pans can be used without difficulty on any cooktop featuring a frying zone.

Around 30% of the Swiss population have sensitive skin, which means that they need their laundry to be washed even more thoroughly than usual. The skin protection program in AdoraWash appliances is there to help with this by using a specially optimised rinsing procedure and ensuring that water penetrates the laundry extremely effectively. The V-ZUG Special Care Drum also whisks away any remaining traces of detergent. These features help to make skin irritation and itching from leftover detergent a thing of the past.

The AdoraWash and AdorinaWash product ranges are ideal for family homes or flats, while the Unimatic range is designed for communal laundry rooms and small businesses.

Our new CombiCooler generation offers an innovative ClickShelf rack system, which allows you to adjust the height of your racks easily with one hand and make full use of the width at the front when storing your food.

Even 2-litre bottles can be stored easily and securely.

Food freshly stored in the cooling or freezing compartment can be cooled quickly and gently using the fast cool or fast freeze function.

With the new Adora model, VAS compensates an unbalanced load during the spinning phase. This means the machine runs particularly smoothly and quietly. Structure-borne sound and its transmission to adjacent rooms are greatly reduced, which makes the Adora ideal for use in apartments or in buildings with an air-proof envelope such as those built according to the MINERGIE® standard. As documented by official tests, the V-ZUG Adora with VAS conforms perfectly to the stringent requirements of SIA standard 181.

The Adora SLQ and Adora SL models automatically select the appropriate wash program for different types of laundry such as jeans, baby clothes or net curtains. The baby garments program, for example, ensures that your little one's clothes turn out perfectly hygienically clean. Microbiological tests by the Veritas laboratory have confirmed its effectiveness.

By continuously monitoring water turbidity, the ZUG Adora can detect when your laundry has been sufficiently rinsed. This has two advantages: your clothes are perfectly rinsed and water consumption is reduced by 30%.

According to the standard, combined appliances with microwave ovens are not allowed to have energy labels. We have been reprimanded by the European Standards Committee regarding the MSLQ. That is why we have removed the energy label from both the PowerSteam and the MSLQ. (We would have otherwise achieved the good rating of A+)

You select a main program by pressing a single button. This means all the required settings are chosen automatically. If desired, you can select additional programs or functions by pressing the corresponding buttons. If no button is pressed within 20 seconds, the program selected will start automatically.

To meet our customer's requirements, our new laundry room appliances now feature a 20°C wash program that can be selected by pressing a dedicated button.

Since 2019, all our range hoods have been equipped exclusively with energy-saving LED lights. LEDs have energy-efficient properties plus a long service life.

The more the range hood covers the cooktop, the better the extraction performance. This is why flat pull-out deflector plates perform very well. For wall and island hoods, you should make sure that the majority of the cooktop is well covered.

If the laundry room or drying room are also to be connected to the comfort ventilation system, the two systems (comfort ventilation and DualDry) will complement each other when drying wet laundry. This means that increased air humidity in the room is reduced (dehumidified) both by the comfort ventilation system and by our dryer. There may be a problem if the target room humidity of the comfort ventilation system is set higher than that of the dryer. This would mean that the comfort ventilation system becomes permanently moist and our dryer would be permanently dehumidified (especially with our moisture control program). This seems highly unlikely, since a laundry room generally calls for a dry climate and the recommended target room humidities of the comfort ventilation system are somewhat lower than ours (see below).

The PizzaPlus program combines hot air with bottom heat. This is what makes your pizza, quiche or fruit tart base wonderfully crispy.

The level of noise emitted by a range hood depends on the model and extracted air system chosen. In the case of extracted air range hoods, the following rule applies: the smaller the diameter of the exhaust duct, the louder the appliance. As a result, we recommend using a pipe diameter of 150 mm in extracted air mode.

The Eco programs allow you to save energy without compromising on quality. Hot air eco and top/bottom heat eco are particularly suitable for stews that require a lot of time in the oven.

Inspiration and ideas for baking and steaming are provided in the nine recipe books “With a passion for detail”. We have developed a wide variety of recipes that are designed to suit the appliances in the Excellence Line. The stored recipes are called up automatically on the display and the specified settings are performed in the right order to save time and effort while cooking. Cooking with these recipes automatically prompts you to use operating modes you aren’t familiar with, helping you to get to know the appliance better.

Microwave ovens can be fitted into a tall cabinet or wall cabinet. This means they don’t take up space on the worktop and their design fits your other V-ZUG appliances.

Compared with the extracted air solution, there is much less to consider for range hoods with recirculation air, particularly if you have flue-based heating (such as gas, oil or coal-fired heaters, flow heaters, water heaters and open fireplaces). They are easy to install and they can be operated without restrictions if the range hood is used in recirculation mode with an activated charcoal filter. To use recirculation mode, you must provide an activated charcoal filter – the filter absorbs unpleasant odours and ensures there is fresh air in the kitchen while you are cooking.

In principle, all variants (exhaust air and/or recirculated air) are permissible for range hoods in Minergie residential buildings. Detailed information on this topic can be found at: https://www.minergie.ch.

Our exclusive inverter technology variably adjusts the oven’s output to the amount of energy actually required. This means your microwave consumes less energy, while at the same time cooking your food as gently as possible.

You can use your microwave in combined mode to prepare a gratin, lasagne, cake or baked potatoes, or bake bread and puff pastry using only the hot air mode. The possibilities are endless. Compared to a regular oven, meals in microwaves take only two-thirds to half the time in combined mode.

No, the drying time is not changed by the use of different detergents.

The use of softeners can result in a slightly longer drying process, but there are no studies that confirm this assumption.

To remove unpleasant odours, you can take the following steps. Remove the filter and clean it thoroughly. Select a more powerful program, such as the Intensive program. Refill the regenerating salt. Run the Pre-rinsing program from time to time. Buy a commercially available dishwasher cleaner and add this using the Intensive program.
