A modern kitchen in an old German house

Innovation and tradition blend together in this recently renovated house in Germany. Filled with light that filters from the floor-to-ceiling windows, the newly added dining room features essential design details that contribute to an atmosphere of peace and sophistication.

While renovating this house in the old town of Soest, in North Rhine-Westphalia, the architects decided to create an extension to host the kitchen and the dining room. The free-floating counter in marbled ceramics nicely contrasts with the wooden floor. Situated at the centre of the room, it connects the cooking and eating areas, facilitating casual meals and informal conversations. The kitchen cupboard in ultra-matt grey and beige includes a bar for both preparing and storing food, which can easily be concealed behind sliding doors.

Seamlessly integrated within the multi-function cupboard, V-ZUG’s Combair V2000 is a sleek oven that enhances the cooking experience thanks to various operational modes, enabling anyone to create a wide variety of dishes and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the kitchen.

“We have been working with V-ZUG for a very long time. Their quality and minimalistic design fit very well with our values and approach.” Gerdesmeyer Krohn, design studio
