Important update regarding our V-Upgrade digital services

Important information

As part of the ongoing development and refinement of our digital offering, as of 1 July 2026, V-ZUG has decided to discontinue new activations of V-Upgrade, the digital upgrade service for our appliances. Existing V-Upgrades will not be affected, and no action is required on your part.

Why we are making this change

This step allows us to focus even more closely on the areas that deliver the greatest long-term value for our customers: reliable appliances, excellent service, and continued digital development.

What this means for you

Continued access at no cost

Customers who have purchased or received a V-Upgrade as part of a subscription or trial retain permanent access to it at no cost. No action is required.

Nothing changes in everyday use

The discontinuation only affects new activations. As an existing customer, you can keep using your active V-Upgrades as before – but from now on, free of charge.

Support is available

Help is always here if you need it. Our customer service team will be happy to answer any questions about existing V-Upgrades or the transition.

FAQs about the discontinuation of V-Upgrade

Yes. V-ZUG will continue to provide service and support for all V-Upgrades for at least two years from the date of activation. During this period, our service team will remain available to help with any questions or technical issues relating to the relevant V-Upgrade.

Customers with an active trial will retain access to the corresponding V-Upgrade permanently and free of charge, unless otherwise communicated.

Customers with an active subscription will also retain access to the corresponding V-Upgrade permanently and free of charge, unless otherwise communicated.

Apple subscriptions are cancelled automatically at the end of the current billing period. V‑Upgrade will be permanently activated on the appliance at no additional cost from July 1, 2026, without any action required.

In rare cases, a V-Upgrade may no longer be visible or may appear unavailable, for example, following an electronics replacement or technical change. If this happens, please contact our service hotline: 0800 850 850. V-ZUG will review the case and assist with restoring the upgrade, provided a valid entitlement exists.

No. Wherever a trial or subscription continues free of charge as part of this transition, the V-Upgrade remains available without further steps. Action is only required if you do not wish to keep the V-Upgrade, or if it is not displaying correctly on the appliance or in your account.

At present, we do not plan to introduce new V-Upgrades for any of our appliances. Our focus is on delivering the best possible overall experience for our customers through reliable products, excellent service, and continued digital improvements.
