Scope and validity
These general provisions for service contracts and service packages govern the rights and obligations of V-ZUG AG (“V-ZUG”) and the contractual partner (“Contractual Partner”) in connection with the provision of services for and to V-ZUG household appliances in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein (“appliances”). Reference is also made to the General Terms and Conditions of Sale and Delivery of V-ZUG AG, available at www.vzug.com/ch/de/general-terms-and-conditions-of-sale (the “GTC”), which form an integral part of these provisions.
Services included
During the term of the contract, V-ZUG will rectify faults on the contractually agreed V-ZUG appliances that occur when the appliance is used correctly. The service includes labour, travel time, replacement materials, advice on troubleshooting and the costs of the legally required safety check after repair of the appliance. The costs of repair resulting from operating errors or foreign objects, and of consequential loss (e.g. damage to refrigerated goods or laundry goods) arising from a malfunction (regardless of who is at fault), up to a maximum amount of CHF 500 are covered on a one-off basis for the entire term of the service contract. In the event of irreparable damage, V-ZUG will offer a replacement or new appliance at special rates based on the residual value of the appliance. Required spare parts will be invoiced separately only after the 12th year of use.
Excluded services
Repair of faults and damage resulting from external influences, force majeure, third-party intervention, overloading or misuse (as well as the resulting special rates for replacement and new appliances). Refurbishment (e.g. dishwasher baskets, etc.), periodic maintenance work or repairs to installations located outside the appliances. Damage that can be proven to have originated before the start of the contractual term.
Rates
Contract costs for commercial use or use by several parties or several households are calculated depending on the type of use. If a repair is economically unreasonable, disproportionate or impossible, V-ZUG may offer a replacement or new appliance at special rates instead. Premiums for appliances in areas that cannot be reached directly by car (e.g. cable car, etc.) are determined individually. There is no entitlement to a premium refund on termination of the contract.
Cancellation
At the end of the contract term, the contract is automatically extended for a further 12-month term unless terminated in writing by one of the contracting parties with a notice period of one month to the end of the contractual term. The invoice will be issued at the start of the contract or the renewal date and must be paid within 30 days.
