Have you ever wondered how electrical control and automation systems are developed and constructed? Are you interested in how automated equipment is manufactured and put into operation? Do you like the idea of performing repairs on machines or automation systems? Or putting automated equipment into operation together with other experts? Here at V-ZUG Ltd, we provide training that will take your career into the future, with a focus on locating and resolving faults on machines and equipment.

You will have the opportunity to work in a whole range of different areas, such as development, switchgear construction, producing automation equipment and household appliances and putting them into service. You will develop automation technology solutions on computers, as well as programme control systems and put programmes to the test. You will draw up instructions and technical documents for automated equipment.

Your duties will also include installing, maintaining and repairing our household appliances at our customers' premises, with your own service vehicle to take you there. You will locate and resolve faults on automated equipment. You will make changes or additions, or replace components. Your work will consistently comply with regulations relating to occupational safety as well as health and environmental protection.


  • You have completed your basic level of education (Volksschule; middle to upper stage of secondary school)
  • You have an interest in mathematics and physics
  • You are an abstract thinker
  • You are keen on experimenting
  • You are manually dexterous and have an interest in electrical engineering



The 4-year training programme is divided into a basic training stage and an advanced training stage with a focus on locating and resolving faults affecting machines and equipment. Throughout the apprenticeship period, you will have the opportunity to consolidate what you have learned in 11 different departments. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will attend compulsory vocational school classes 1–2 days a week. You may also work towards your vocational school diploma (Berufsmatura) in parallel to your apprenticeship, after consulting V-ZUG Ltd.

Development opportunities

Nach dem Abschluss der Lehre stehen dir viele Varianten zur persönlichen Weiterentwicklung offen. Mit Abschluss der Berufsmatura ist es möglich, an einer Fachhochschule (FH) zu studieren. Ohne Berufsmaturaabschluss kannst du dich berufsspezifisch mit Fachausweisen (FA), höheren Fachdiplomen (HFP) oder an der höheren Fachschule (HF) weiterbilden.
