Production Mechanic EFZ

Have you ever wondered how tools, appliance parts and production equipment are manufactured? Are you interested in assembling devices and machines, or perhaps checking and documenting the quality of manufactured parts? Here at V-ZUG Ltd, we provide training that will take your career into the future.

Your main activities will include the production of tools and ensuring the availability of our production facilities. You will use metals such as steel, chromium steel and aluminium along with plastics and composite materials to manufacture tools, individual components or even entire production systems. In single-item production or prototype construction you will work on lathes, milling machines, drilling machines and grinding machines. Most of the machinery you will work with will be computer-controlled, and you will work from the relevant construction drawings to programme them. You will also be responsible for selecting the necessary tools, equipping the machines and carrying out test runs. As soon as everything has been set up perfectly, you will allow production to commence while keeping a close eye on activities at all times. Once production is complete, you will use high-precision measuring and testing instruments to check the quality of each individual workpiece.

Training

The three-year training programme is divided into a basic training stage and an advanced training stage with a focus on prototype construction along with the manufacture of tools and production equipment. During your apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to consolidate what you have learned across different departments, all while attending compulsory vocational school classes up to twice a week. You may also work towards your vocational school diploma (Berufsmatura) in parallel to your apprenticeship, after consulting V-ZUG Ltd.
