Positioned on the headland in Sydney’s Northern Beaches in Australia, Surfside House is a sprawling, tactile retreat designed by Richard Cole Architecture. Embedded in its coastal setting, the home uses timber and neutral-toned stone to create a relaxed, beachy family home. The house reveals itself gradually, inviting exploration of its layered details and connections to place.
The kitchen is lofty, but a textured wall of timber joinery adds warmth. At the heart of the space is the V-ZUG Gas Cooktop, featuring manual precision cooking and a black mirror glass finish. This is matched – and elevated – by the intelligent automated cooking of V-ZUG’s Combair and CombiSteamer V6000.
With such a pristine location by the ocean, Richard Cole Architecture has ensured the home feels both open and connected to its location – but also protected through the solid sandstone structure and slanted openings.
